Meet the Artist

Hey there! I’m Dr. Robin, a practicing physical therapist and the artist behind Robin Sue Studio.

I’ve always had a love for both art and medicine. I’ve been drawing and painting as long as I can remember, and was a total nerd for the biological sciences in school. After a sports injury in college, I decided to pursue a career in healthcare and fell in love with physical therapy after experiencing first-hand the benefits of using exercise as medicine. Even though my focus was set on becoming a physical therapist, I still continued to make art on the side for fun.

After doodling my way through PT school (I’m a visual learner, go figure), I graduated with my Doctorate degree and started my career as a physical therapist working at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. I was given my own private treatment room to work in, complete with four blank walls to fill. My inner-creative quickly took over. I started drawing and painting pictures I could use as decor and for patient education; anatomical structures that were aesthetically pleasing but still scientifically accurate.

My artwork started sparking lots of questions and conversations with my patients about their own anatomy and how their bodies worked, and I realized I had a beautiful tool for incorporating better health education into each treatment session. As my walls filled with more anatomical art, so did my inbox of requests from healthcare colleagues and friends in the wellness space who were looking for the same thing.

And with that, Robin Sue Studio was born.

My goal with creating and sharing my anatomical art is to help healthcare and wellness professionals decorate their space, drive more conversations with their clients, and ultimately inspire greater health literacy.

Thank you so much for being here!
